having fun huh? You look amazing. Love the headband look!

KCCC takes less time to dry now than it did in right after my b/c. weird. I have somehow developed a huge interest in coils. I want to try too!

Still working on these coils. Looks like I may only have half a head done. This is taking sooooooo long! I've been trying to work the accessories, I need it with this big ole head! LOL!

I've been working for 2 hours and I only have about 1/3rd done. Crying or Very sad Plus i noticed areas that have some relaxed ends left. I'm going to have my hairdresser clip them tomorrow. Not sure if I have enough energy to finish. Getting so, so, so, so tired! Neutral

I ended up with about 1/2 my head done and I rocked it with a semi puff with a headband and flower. Lots of compliments. Pics to come when I get home. They are cute but they took soooo long. I need a full day to do them.

Ok, pics of my "partial" finger coils. It just took WAY too long to finish. So I rocked them with a headband, flower and a mini puff in the back. I actually got a lot of compliments. I think I'll do it again like that tomorrow and wash them out tomorrow evening. Let me know if you all know a way to make them take less time!!! Ugg, going back through the headband and a little in the back took about 2 hours. My arms were so tired. Sleep

Fingers - I gave up though and didn't finish them. Maybe I'll try again. I need a night when I have SEVERAL hours and 3-4 movies to watch. LOL!

Very cute and creative!!! I have a couple of headbands with flowers, just haven't found the right time or outfit to where them with!!

You did a good job on your coils....very neat and precise. So what products did you use?

It takes me about 2 hours to do my head. I take mini breaks. And I use a finger to coil mine. I have to psych myself up to do the coils cuz I don't want to be in my head for 2 hours.... what is us gonna do when our hair gets longer?

KNH

I used the Kimmaytube mixture and ORS Lock & Twist Gel for hold.

Maybe once I get used to them it will take less time for me. I'm so new at this!

Hey, so cute and creative!!! Sorry it took so long though! You look amazing!!! I should get so tired!!!

It was the opposite for me - took less time for coils than twists. I guess it's different for everybody. Of course, mine aren't as neat as yours!

I had the bc in late March, a clean up of scab ends in late April and then had to trim to fix the ends because they still looked so ruff.

Well, it grew anyway so just be patient . I trimmed but I researched my butt off and I knew I didn't have to - I could have rode it out for a while but decided not to. You may be able to twist to cornrow to set. Whacha gonna do?

Hello,
I am late again but your coils came out wonderful!
Oh I wish you would have finished them to see the end result, but I understand. You will develop speed with practice. Smile

Thanks so much! I have some time this weekend so I'm going to try some different styles and see how it goes. I can't wait to do twists again. Soon I believe, once they can kind of lay down flat. Don't want to look like a mini Coolio. LOL!

Thanks so much! I do plan to try again. I just didn't have enough time. I think I may try them again on Friday. Not ready for little twists to stick out of my head yet. LOL!

Post by CurlyChefRobin 5th September 2010, 1:10 am

So, just spent 2 hours flat twisting the front of my hair and doing single two strand twists to the back (that's plaiting, right). Wink Still learning all this natural lingo. This is the first time twisting my TWA and I was surprised at how long my hair actually is! I don't plan to use heat for at least another 6 months so I won't know until February how long my hair is.

Anywho, (I get distracted so easily), my plan is to keep the from flat twisted and turn the back into a twist-out tomorrow for church. Hoping it stretches out the back which is around 3-4 inches when it is stretched. I noticed that the thicker parts are holding a lot better then the wavy part at the top of my hair. Hopefully this all holds for tomorrow.

By the way - Tonight was wash night so I washed with Giovanni SAS, DC'd with Giovanni SAS condish and EVOO. Then used my trusted Kimmaytube mix to moisturize, castor oil to seal and I used the ORS Twist-n-lock gel for hold. Pics tomorrow!!!!!

Can't believe I am over 6 months since my last relaxer. I never thought I could do it but it's working great! I am so happy with my hair. I think I actually have some scab hair and we'll clip it off eventually but it's all good.

Finally, some pics of my first flat twist on my twa. Didn't think I had that much hair. I did a twist out on the back and if I had actually looked at the pics and seen how cute the twists looked I probably would have left them in. I get a lot of compliments on how young I look with my twa and the twists.

Also a few pics to show the growth. I'm happy! Laughing

Also some pics of the hair flower I made. Took a LONG time but it was well worth it and I will make more. I used the video that was posted here on CN to make them. So cute and everything cost me about $5 and it's enough to make about 6 flowers! Yeah!!! Whew . . . I think that's it's curlies!

The earrings and scarf were gifts from two different people but I LOVE how they went together!
