Re: Curly Chef Robin: Frohawk Pic
Your hair and that flower is cute!!!
You did two strand flat twist in the front and regular/individual two strand twist in the back. A plait is another way of saying braid.

Hey Robin, just dropping by this morning. I'm planning to be in Cleveland for the hair expo- I'm super excited about it! I'm especially happy that Koils By Nature will be in the house! I've been wanting to try her products but on the ground for sure. So, that said- I agree- your hair is thriving and if you are around, perhaps we will meet up. Have a great day

Thanks so much. For once in my life I feel like my hair is thriving. It never has before, it was always breaking or maintaining.

Re: Curly Chef Robin: Frohawk Pic
This morning I attended a legislative breakfast - super professional. My TWA didn't worry me but I began to think about once I start doing two strand twists and styles like that. Will they work with the professional world of creamy crack and weaves (always funny to me how a weave that looks so fake is considered "professional"). I will say I did leave my signature hair flower at home to try to not draw too much attention.
Anyway, I'm there smiling, in my suit, at 7:30am. Yeah, yuck!!! I look around and I KEEP seeing ladies with natural hair. Several cute puffs with scarfs, twa's, a lady with two strand twists and even a curly white lady with a cutest gray flower that matched her suit. I thought to myself, YAY!! Go natural ladies, rocking our beautiful hair while looking professional at the same time. I must admit I was surprised and I also don't know how many people may be creamy crack free but still flat ironed. I was very proud of my curly sisters and I am a firm believer that professionalism is NOT about hair but about attitude. Here are some pics of my professional look!

You are looking very professional, and I'm so glad that we are getting out there and showing corporate America that natural is in!!
Going back a week ago...I really like the scarf and earing combination, and you did a real good job on your flat twists. Your hair has really grown in 4 months. Look good!!!

Wow, your hair really is growing. I love the pictures. The coral is a great color on you. Yeah, we natural chicks rule the world. Yesterday I took my son to the pediatrican. One of the doctors had done the big chop. I hadn't seen her in awhile, but her hair was bra strap length and now she has a short curly puff. There's a new doc there that we actually saw and she smelled my little ones hair and asked me what was in it. Well her hair was long and (relaxed so I thought), so I was kind of general on the answer. Then she pressed and said, "I'm natural, I just flat ironed my hair this week. I want to know, what's in his hair." I laughed and told her Shea Moisture Curling Milk.
We naturals are everywhere! You look great.

Thanks so much!!! I love your hair as well!! Hopefully one day my twists will be that neat. I keep making them smaller and it's neater the smaller I do. It's now been almost 7 months since my last relaxer! Can't believe how much I love my hair!

Such a cool story! I need to try that Shea moisture stuff! That's on my list for next month!
Re: Curly Chef Robin: Frohawk Pic
Ok, Just finished my first real protective style! Full head of 2-strand twists on my twa. They came out very well. I plan to rock them tomorrow for church - more pics after I finish tomorrow but I figured I'd grab some while they are nice and fresh!
By the way, I washed with KC Come Clean (The first time using it and I actually really liked it. My hair did not feel stripped but actually felt very soft when I was done shampooing). I then did a DC with Giovanni SAS mixed with some EVOO and UBH deep Conditioner. I then used my Kimmaytube mix to moisturize, sealed with EVOO and a little castor oil on my edges and I twisted with ORS Twist and Lock Gel. Here are the results! Please excuse the lack of makeup and wrinkled pj's.

Thanks! I felt the shine was still there today after they dried. Just don't be too heavy handed with it or your hair will get hard.

Robin,
You are working that hair. The twist were beautiful and now this style is soooooooooooooo cute. Fits your face so well. Amazing how we all look younger with our natural hair. You do. Thanks for sharing. I've taken tons of pictures, I've been lazy about posting. But I also haven't done anything creative with my hair yet.
