I'm still here.. working on a blanket instead of my wedding dress (I would never be able to finish something like that in time). I have to add updated pix of it in my ravelry account.

That was funny..lol well said.
Re: Crochet Anyone???
I've tried to read patterns and even follow YT tutorials.... just doesn't seem to happen for me. I make up my own stuff too.

But, don't you ever get frustrated if it was a project that you wanted to look like the picture, lol? I know it sounds childish but I did not think it would be so difficult to follow some directions.
Re: Crochet Anyone???
I see tons of things that I'd love to make but I can't until I learn to read the pattern...Maybe some day.

Tons of patterns and videos
http://crochet-mania.blogspot.com/
Check her out for patterns AND videos for each pattern. She explains everything step by step.
And don't feel bad about not being able to read patterns. I usually have to have my book of basic stitches open to be able to read a pattern and work it. I've had success doing patterns that only require one or two different stitches.

Me too! I love Teresa! Her vids are so helpful. I've learned the basic stitch from her and then i either follow a video step by step follow a pattern show the stitches she taught.

Re: Crochet Anyone???
Okay since it's been cold down here in the Sunshine State I've been doing a few crochet projects.
I made a black and red cowl (not quite wide enough but it'll do for now).
I continued working on my "gotta-use-up-my-excess-wool" blanket.
And I got a request for a crocheted cap with a flower on it.. I was wearing mine at the local diner, and the lady who owns the place said she liked my hat. I told her I made it myself, and she immediately asked if I'd make her one and how much do I charge. I didn't give her a price, but I'll come back with a hat for her anyways.

This is the first time that I have done socks. It needs a little work, but I like it. On to the next one.

Re: Crochet Anyone???
Momnwife, I like your hat and socks! I have never attempted socks.. were they hard? Once my wedding is over I will have time to get back to crocheting too.. my fingers are getting itchy.
Re: Crochet Anyone???
A friend of mine taught me the basic steps of crocheting last year. So far I've started over about 5 times lol but at the moment I have established a beautiful purple brick. To each their own lol

Maybe next year?
I'm drooling at your hair in your avatar pic. Great growth! I've been away for a while because EVERYBODY has more hair, except for those who chopped.

Re: Crochet Anyone???
Hello All,
I'm new to the community and I love to see that I'm not the only one who likes to crochet.
@momnwife did you freestyle that hat or do you have a pattern, please send the pattern or format to me....I Love it!
Any hat patterns that you guys have, I would love to see them. I haven't had time to crochet in a while, but for something like a hat I think I can do fairly quickly.

Thanks Nikcoils! I've never heard of Ravelry, but I'm signing up and I will take a look around. This might be the motivation to pick up a needle again
