Re: Crochet Anyone???
Greetings
I am new to crochet and I've just learned a few things about knitting. I've only crochet a loop-sided scarf that I am very proud of. But the knitting is a bit difficult since with crochet you only use one needle. I just need to learn how to purl. I have a bag of yarn that I am anxious to do something with. Thanks for the web link, I'll definatly give it a shot. I'll post a few pic of projects i've started and those i've finished.

Tip: If you are working with granny squares hide your strings as you go and when you are assembling do the same. There is also a video on youtube that shoes how to crochet them in from the beginning. When I find it again I will post a link. Or you can go to my youtube channel and sift thru my favorites.

I like that SheeTacular! I'm still in the infant stages with what I want to do. I've made a scarf and a couple of hats. Eventually I want to make a blanket, but school is in the way right now. I love TJW193. I'm a subscriber of hers, she has some nice things.

JEALOUS!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] LOL This probably goes so much faster than me and my crochet needle.
I'm working on a hat for myself. I'm using a tutorial from threadbangers on youtube. Its coming along quite nicely and I probably could've been done but I keep stopping and starting.
Boiling Yarn
I read something a while back about boiling yarn but I can't find it again and I don't remember what the boiling is supposed to do for the yarn. Anyone know anything about this?
Re: Crochet Anyone???
@tia I will look into it..i hadn't heard of it but I wonder if it keeps it from splitting.
This blanket I'm working on is giving me fits but I have to finish it tonight...aarrrgggg

Re: Crochet Anyone???
I am crocheting TOO tight. I'm working on this headband from Threadbanger, but I make it too tight and then I have to shove the needle in each time.
Do you know how I can loosen it up?

Re: Crochet Anyone???
unravel and start over. you can use a bigger hook or just try to make ur stitches a lil bigger HTH
Re: Crochet Anyone???
I finished dad's blanket it washed and dried well. I used a half double crochet for the border three rows. Sorry I didn't get a pic before he left this morning.
Happy Crocheting and Merry Christmas!!

I didn't finish my headband for my niece. I just gave her money instead. I guess I'll have to use it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Re: Crochet Anyone???
How do ya'll recover from knots? I spend more time attempting to take them out than anything else. I'm so annoyed.

Re: Crochet Anyone???
Do you roll your yarn before starting (like into a big ball)? I know it takes more time at first but it will help avoid knots in the process.
Re: Crochet Anyone???
Nope. I leave it the way it's sold. kind of oblong shaped. My neice found the the end of the string you're not supposed to pull and pulled and pulled it. So i've been having to keep the two ends separated. I haven't been doing a very good job of that.
I'll try doing what you've suggested. Thanks

Re: Crochet Anyone???
I went into AC Moore last week ladies and I was in yarn heaven. I seriously got excited to be looking at all that yarn. I didn't know what to do, what to buy, how much. It was just all too much for me so I grabbed a neutral skein of yarn and another crochet needle and went about my business. As I get better I'll be making more yarn purchases. Nothing that I've made thus far has come out exactly how I wanted it but I know it'll come in time. My camera is dead but I will post pictures later on today of my 4 creations. 3 hats and a scarf
Re: Crochet Anyone???
