Re: Curly Chef Robin: Frohawk Pic
So, as I sit here with my new fav DC on my head I realized I haven't been on my CSJ for a while. Nothing much new going on here. I've been doing my weekly DC with mayo, eggs and peppermint oil (occasional coconut milk added). My hair loves the protein and it's really making my hair very soft. The peppermint oil helps to mask the funky egg smell. LOL!
I am IN LOVE with Giovanni's Direct Leave-In. My hair loves it. I use jojoba oil or EVOO to seal. My plan is to buy some coconut oil just to see how my hair likes.
Other than that I've been twisting a lot. Trying to keep my hair protected from this harsh Cleveland winter. The only other new thing is I wear my bonnet under my hair to protect my hat from pulling. Just keeping everything simple. Happy hair!

Glad the hair is doing well!
Giovanni Direct sealed with coconut oil was my staple for a loooong time after I bc'd. I got away from it and just bought some more for really cheap on Vitacost so I'm going to try it again and see how it works now that my hair is longer.
Take care!

Re: Curly Chef Robin: Frohawk Pic
Ok, I haven't posted in a while so here I go!!! I've been doing mostly two strand twists and twist outs. The weather here is very cold so I only let my twist outs last 2-3 days at the most. My hair gets very dry if I try to keep it out longer.
I also tried stretching my hair for my mini twists. Basically I washed, DC'd and braided my hair in about 30 larger braids. The next day I wore it out. Looked a little messy but I rocked it. That evening I twisted my hair into small twists. They've been in since Tuesday night. I like them but it's a lot of work and I don't mind my shrinkage for my twists so I'm not sure if I'll take the time to do it again. Two hair days in a week is a lot.
GREAT news, my 15 year old son not only asked me to twist his hair but he also let me use my products on him, this included doing a DC with TJ's Nourish Spa condish! He didn't want to touch my products before and now I'm using all my stuff on him. He wouldn't let me take his pic but I liked them. I think I may want to stretch his hair to do it a second time as he liked them but wanted them longer. If I can sneak a pic I'll post it.
My pjism is under control but my next buys will be coconut oil, mango butter or shea butter and a few new essential oils.
Here's some pics of my hair over the last month!
Later curlies!!!

Twist-out - I LOVE how this came out!!!!
Result of a chunky braid-out. I did this to stretch my hair so my twists would be longer and have less shrinkage.
Mini-twists stretched
Almost the same pic but I love how it came out!
The back of the mini twists. Stretching does make them look fuller.

Hey fellow Ohioan! How are you enjoying/managing this weather!? I'm so over it already but at least the snow has been somewhat mild so far.
I was just admiring your growth. Girl, once it gets going, it gets GOING- doesn't it? Your hair is obviously loving what you are doing and all your styles are cute. Keep up the good work!

Thanks so much for the compliments! Girl, this weather is a killer! I really don't like winter but it's Ohio! This year hasn't been too bad so hopefully the rest of the winter stays the same. LOL!
