Yep! Last year we went to the mall to see the fireworks and although it was definitely amazing, it was ridiculously loud! This year I hope we get a better spot. We were standing a little bit in front of the Lincoln Memorial. We're gonna go to all of the Smithsonian museums because usually we just go to the Air & Space museum, but we said we're gonna visit all of them this time. Also on my list is Georgetown <3 I love that place! Have you ever eaten at Harmony Cafe? They have delicious Chinese food for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike

You know, it's funny you ask me what my favorite products are. I don't have anything that I MUST have just yet. I've been such a product junkie for the past couple of months and spending like crazy. I'm slowing down now and trying to pay attention so I'll know what stays and what goes. If there are products I could say I reall enjoy it would be Oyin and Qhemet. I really, really like Oyin and would recommend them to anyone.

I purchased the CD Tui Smoothie when I was in NY several weeks back. I haven't tried it yet. You and Nubie are sold, I see.

Do you know I've lived in DC all my life and have never done fireworks on the mall? I've gone to other locations in the city to watch but not down on the mall....too many people, traffic, noise, etc. But I LOVE the museums and my mom always took us as kids. They are the best. My favorite is the American History Museum. I also like the African Art Museum too.
And thanks for the tip about Harmony Cafe. I've never heard of it but I like vegetarian Chinese food so I'll be checking it out definitely. And check out Iceberry if you go to Georgetown. Delicious!

So...in hair news:

Yesterday, well technically the day before yesterday, I pre-pooed for the first time everr! I used three spoonfuls of Lutrasilks Shea Butter & Mango DC and three spoonfuls of EVOO, mixed it together, separated my hair into 4 sections, applied the mix, braided the sections, and put on my bonnet. Then, yesterday, I washed with my Tui Herbal Shampoo and DC-ed a new way. Following this video, I mixed a creamy conditioner (Lutrasilk's Shea Butter and Mango), a scalp oil (didn't know what to use, so I used this oil my mom didn't use anymore called Profective Hair Growth/Anti-Breakage Oil or something like that ; it smells good and the ingredients aren't bad at all either), EVCO, honey, and "my favorite hair oil" (I don't have a favorite, so I just used EVOO haha), and I added some Kids Organics Hair Nutrition Conditioner (forgot the name and way too lazy to get up, but it's a protein DC). I left it in for an hour and a half and I was SO hype cause I thought my hair was gonna be feeling drool worthy. But...of course, it didn't. I mean...my hair was soft, but NOTHING and I mean NOTHING I've used so far has compared to that Tui Smoothie lol. (I'm so nervous, that when I purchase it again this summer and use it, my hair is gonna feel blah and I'm gonna feel hella dumb)


Anyways, so, with that DC let down, I decided to break out my new product. Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Leave-In. The smell is divine, and it's really thick (which I loved) and I really wanted to love it...but I don't I might keep getting it though just for the smell hahahaha. So..yah. Right now, my hair is in a bun type thing. I'll take a pic when I come back upstairs from washing clothes.



Tomorrow, I'm taking my math regents (state test) and I'm totally gonna fail. Weeeee! Partay!

Sorry the conditioners have not worked out. Perhaps trying to add fewer ingredients and see what happens. For the HE LTR, you can try adding aloe vera gel and oils. It may help it.

Congrats on trip to DC, HU tour, Georgetown visit, job, CD Tui Smoothie & new iPod!! I have to check out the Chinese restaurant in Georgetown.

As far as museums, I really like the American Indian one--very nice and modern.

since i don't have any aloe vera gel (i've never tried it either), but i added some oils to the LTR leave-in, but it didn't seem to work, but then i got a genius idea ( ) and added water and it's working well! yayyy! lol thanks

ok, so in hair news, my hair is still breaking off no idea what to do. i'm so disappointed with my hair at this point. i look at my length and literally just wanna rip out my hair. my hair looks the same since i started my journey i haven't retained any length. at all. i dunno what i'm doing wrong, but i'm doing something incredibly wrong cause i feel like a huge 'tard.

my regimen is as follows:

prepoo (lutrasilk shea butter/mango/cholesterol dc + evoo)
wash 1x a week (tui herbal shampoo: sulfate, paraben, mineral oil, and petroleum free)
dc (tui hair smoothie)
moisturize everyday (water based, usually a conditioner then seal with shea butter)
henna once a month
sleep on satin pillow, with satin bonnet (that usually falls off lol)
i either wear protective styles (twists, buns) or low manipulation styles (braid outs)

WHAT IS THE PROBLEMO?! lol


i was thinking about picking up castor oil for my (still huge arse) bald spot (and eyelashes/eyebrows )


any feedback would def. be appreciated.

try pre-pooin with just the oils (i only pre-poo w/oils) and since ur wearing ur hair in protective styles u shouldnt have to moisturize it everyday. when i twist w/cd or qhemets i can go a whole week with it being moisturized especially in protective styles.

i just put my twist in monday and i plan on wearin them all week so the ONLY thing i do is spritz day n night w/my aloe gro (yes im using it in the summer too) or just some water n oil mix.

when i wear my hair out i still spritz morning n night but i may moisturize it every 2 days...sometimes i stretch it to 3 cuz i dont want to weigh my hair down or get build up!

cant really help u on the ends, i do know that in my twa days when i use to hide behind a headband my edges would suffer n get bald i stopped stressing it and stopped pullin my edges back and baby-d my edges back to life with castor oil n massages.

cant wait til u make it back down to dc...when u comin again...maybe we can have a meetup!

which oils do you use? i don't know, i guess i'm just overly paranoid about keeping my hair moisturized i probably could just spritz my hair and KIM and my hair would be fine.

i definitely have to pick up some castor oil. it's embarrassing looking like a 50 year old man i guess that's what i get for wearing ponytails/buns pulled back tightly for like...3 and a half years straight

i'm gonna be in dc from july 1st until the 5th!
