My roommate got her's the day before I left and I ordered before she did. LoL, I'm so jealous right now because all I hear are rave reviews about Afroveda. I know I should be patient but... I'm not. >.< I emailed Mala; hopefully she knows what's going on since it supposedly shipped out last Tuesday.

Thank you MissLeggz! I'm trying my best not to return to PJism (at least until February). Two for 7.99 is an amazing deal though... >.< Agh! I'm back home now... the closest Whole Foods is probably out in Manhattan. I'll check it out. LoL.

I took down my two-day old twists today and rocked a twist-out because I was bored.
Mom: Your hair pull-up.
Me: No, it's not.
Mom: Yes, it is!
Me: ------
Before I left for break, my Chinese friend Emily was helping me decide which hair products to take with me. We picked some conditioners, shampoo, gel, and oil. When we got to hair grease, she became really confused. LoL. (I know a lot of people don't grease their scalps but I love it and I think it helps my hair. I have two favorites - SuperGro, the only product with petroleum I still use, and Nature's Blessings, an all-natural mixture.) She asked me why black people grease their scalp; wouldn't it just make their hair really oily. I didn't know how to explain so I just told her that black people, in general, have very dry hair so hair oil helps to keep the scalp healthy. She was still confused but helped me put some in my hair before I packed everything up.
Here are some pictures of my twist-out. The front isn't as defined as the back because it originally had gel that turned into huge white balls that I had to wash out after finishing the back...

Thank you Puddles and CocaCola!
I did my first puff today! I thought I didn't have enough hair so I never tried it but it looks so nice~~~. When I was putting the hair tie around my neck, I thought I crushed my windpipe. LoL. I think I'll look for a larger one so I don't feel like I'm choking when I double it. I noticed that my edges on the left side are growing very nicely while the right side is still struggling. All of the braiding and relaxing I used to do destroyed my hairline and the hair above my ears. But with love, its been growing back slowly. Maybe I'll start taking vitamins...

I twisted my hair today. I noticed that the hair at the very back of my head is a different texture from the rest. Its much straighter and doesn't hold a curl very well naturally... interesting.

Thank you ladies! I've been obsessed with my smile since elementary school and wasted many hours practicing poses in the mirror. LOL.

Thank you! I don't mind if it stays straight as long as it doesn't mess with my styling, lol. I guess I'll watch it and see what it does~. My roommate also has a different texture at the back of her head so maybe this is common?

Its common. I have 3 different textures. I agree with other ladies that the last pic of your puff was cute.

Re: LoveSunshine17
My hair is definitely straight in the back. I soooo thought I was a freak for that until just now because every other black or brown person would say thats the curliest part of their hair.
Re: LoveSunshine17
The phenomenon still confuses me. The back is the kinkiest part on my head. N I thought it was like that for most blacks. You know when you get a perm they usually start in the back. Or when you got a press and comb, it was all about straightening that "kitchen" as well call it here in the South. But I love that puff. I wonder if I have enough hair for one? I guess we'll see when I take down these twists.

Re: LoveSunshine17
flashback from the past:
That's my high school yearbook photo. One side of my hair was longer than the other~ but it looked nice that day. I actually took extra care so I would have a nice photo. My high school had strict appearance regulations... I'm beginning to wonder if "natural hair" would be considered appropriate for class. I recall that the rules stated no unnatural colors, "neat" hairstyles that do not cause distractions, etc. Boys couldn't have hair past the nape of the neck. So strict!!
Something one of my friends that I've known since I was 7 said to me today: What does your natural hair look like? I don't think I've ever seen it before!
LoL, I didn't realized I'd been relaxed for so long...
