That is random LOL. But thanks for asking. UMMMM....graduation was pushed up until March, the dress...well...it didn't work out so I have to start over (I get real ambitious with my work some times and don't always plan accordingly.
Anyhoo, thanks!!!!!

Re: .:Eden:. Curly Q Twist Out
ROUTINE/REGIMEN:
1. Pre-poo (Coconut Oil preferably or whatever I have on hand, usually the day before)
2. Dry Finger Detangle and Twist Prep **I haven't used a comb in about 3 months.
3. Water Rinse
4. Shampoo (Suave Almond & Shea Butter Shampoo) **This will change to Trader Joe's Shampoo
5. Condition and Finger Detangle as needed (Suave Tropical Coconut Conditioner) or Deep Condition (Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle Rose)
5. Plop (Hair Turban or Towel)
6. Moisturize (Shea Moisture Shea Butter Leave In)
7. Seal (Shea Butter and/or Castor Oil)
**Moisturize and seal daily
**I do protein treatments every 6-10 weeks with Aphogee Two Step Treatment (after I shampoo and proceeded by a deep condition)
**I clarify my hair once a month or once every two months (Suave Clarifying Shampoo)
**I hardly ever use gel anymore, but Eco Styler is what I use when I do (this will be replaced w/ KCCC)
PROTECTIVE STYLES:
-Two Strand Twists
-Flat Twists
-Updos
10 THINGS I'VE LEARNED:
1. Wash n go's will give you terrible SSK's.
2. Don't go past 3 days without moisturizing your hair.
3. My hair is thick with fine to medium strands.
4. Protective styles are necessary and keep them in or Newbie will come looking for you
5. Stay away from bandwagons.
6. Use one buy one.
7. It's better to do your hair every 2 weeks.
8. Ditch the comb finger detangling is the way to go.
9. Don't be scared to clip those ends or you'll regret it later.
10. Wash your hair in twists and your hair won't get tangled.

.:Eden:. wrote:Hello again ladies,
I had a setback in my protective styling until my 1yr mark. It was only 1 week so it's alright. Anyhoo, I was getting really fed up with my hair and wanted to put it away for a while. The only problem is that whenever I do "those" kind of protective styles I always miss my hair. Sooo, I decided to do crochet braids using "Bob Marley Pony Braiding Hair by Vienna". It's really big and real fun to wear. I get the best of both worlds: protecting my hair and BIG HAIR .
.:Eden:. wrote:Today marks my 1 Year Nappiversary and I am sad (but kinda glad) to say I am in a protective style. Newbie if you are ready this, yes I am in a protective style . I put in yarn braids again, and I am very please with this set. I can't say how long it took because I still have a spot in the middle I need to finish and I don't remember when I started. Sad, but true. I am very happy to be 1 year in, and I don't regret a minute of it. I have come to know, understand, and love every kink, coil, and curl on my head.
The photo effect has my edges looking sparse, but it is really not like that. LOL
They weren't kidding when they said you need a lot of patience to go and be natural, cuz ya do! I offer the same advice to anyone who considers this journey. I am also happy to finally have a regimen and staple products that work for me. My hair is definitely a reflection on my personality...complex. It took a lot of figuring out to understand what I needed. Regardless, this has been a great journey nonetheless. Thanks for all who shared a kind word and offered advice along the way (Hey Twin!).
Year 1 was all about educating myself on my hair and experimenting with products, styles, and routines. Year 2 will be about length retention and extra care. Thanks again, and I look forward this next chapter. <------Why does this sound like I leaving to work for another company???
Eden....you really have patience...I love the crochet braids on you. How long did they last? Also your yarn braids looked very neat!! I sat here and watch all 3 of toysvoice's video's on crochet braids. I am so interested in this style..but I shall not try this on my own! LOL
You did a very good job!! Look forward to more protective styles from you..

Thanks KNH, this was definitely my last bit of patience. I won't repeat these styles again. LOL
Re: .:Eden:. Curly Q Twist Out
Hello again,
I'm back for a kind of small update. I achieved a successful braid out, and I must say I like braid outs MUUUCCHHH better than twist outs. The only downfall is they take foreverrrr to put in and take down. I only took one pic, and it is not completely clear.
I did some mini twists again. I had twists in my hair and just gradually separated it into smaller twists over the course of 2 days.
And here is a length check and slight comparison from BC to 1 Year. I'm pretty much back to the same length I was before I BC'd.

I requested a Huetiful for my Bday and I just received a confirmation email that it'll be here Dec 7. I can't wait . I know this will help tons in the moisture department, especially with my ends. Anxiously waiting...
Re: .:Eden:. Curly Q Twist Out
So jealous.... ::in my whiny voice:: "I want one!"
I cant wait to hear your review.....maybe I can get Hubby to get me one for Christmas.

as far as braidouts, since all of yall says it takes too long...looks like i wont be doin much of it cuz i aint got the patience nor time.
