What ya mixing?
So I want to get into making my own hair oils. Especially since shae butter does not smell well to me...and I dont want to have to keep spending money on products too. So what are some good starter moisturisers? also if you have tips on aromatherapy oils just for the house toss those in too
Re: What ya mixing?
Have you tried mixing the shea with outher oils?? You can mix it with jojoba/evoo/castor oils (or pick one) and add an essential oil like lavender, rosemary (some people don't like the smell of rosemary but I don't mind it, plus it promotes hair growth/scalp stimulation) or any essential oil (EO) you like. Whip it all together with a mixer and see what ya got!!!
Re: What ya mixing?
Shea dulls my hair and it jsut does not do anything for me. I looove the vatika oil and coconut oil since those can penetrate the hair shaft. I find that if I mix too may oils together, my hair looks like an oil slick. I stick to those two. I have been playing with my own air freshners but I can't get the mix right but it works. I will mix a couple drops of lemon oil or grapefruit oil with some isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol), but it in a bottle, shake and spray. The spray keeps gumming up the bottle so I have not found the perfect ratio yet.

Question---
I just purchased some pure argan oil and was wondering if anyone knows a conditioner recipe with argan oil that I could mix up?

That'll make a nice DC when mixed with your conditioner. I used to do that every week before I started my locs, and my hair felt and looked good each time.
