Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
So who uses it and how? I've been using as overnight conditioning treatments about once a week or so before washing the hair for the past couple of months and like how conditioned my hair feels afterwards. Curious about others experiences.

I use it in every thing! conditioners, styling products, oil rinses.....I don't think it's anything I don't use it for

I'm with tiashauntee on this one! I put EVOO in my conditioner, deep/protien treatments and alone. This morning I put some on my hair before getting in the shower and used it as a detangler as I combed out my hair while the warm water ran on it. Then I conditioned. My hair feels so moisturized. BTW, I did this because when I woke up my hair kinda felt dry.

Oh I also use it on my face as a moisturizer and part of my Oil Cleansing Method on my face. (There's a post on that around here somewhere...)

I also use it when I deep condition, alone, and I'm about to use in a whipped shea butter mixture I'm thinking up.

It's on my head right now as a deep conditioner. It's mixed with sweet almond, jojoba and coconut oil with water as my daily leave in conditioner. I actually have a bottle in the bathroom and a bottle in the kitchen for cooking.

I use it as a oil rinse. When I wash my hair, wet my hair first, shampoo and rinse, then I put EVOO on my hair and scalp. I dont rinse it out. I add my wash out conditioner on top of it. Let it sit while I shower, then rinse it all out.
I do the same thing when I co-wash. Wet my hair first, add EVOO, then the conditioner.
Using it this way for me helps when my ends start to feel dry and crispy.
HTH!

Before I co-wash my hair, I massage it into my scalp, put on a shower cap and sit under the dryer for about 15-30 minutes. Or sometimes I mix EVOO, coconut oil, and a bit of water and use it as a spritz when my TWA needs a little help. It makes my hair and scalp feel amazing!

I think im about to start incorporating EVOO into my hair regimen after hearing everybody talk about it! I was watching some youtube video's, and I saw where some use it on wet hair before they apply their leave-in and they say it leaves awesome results! Have most of you, after using EVOO, or mixing it in your conditioners etc., noticed your hair was better as a result? Also, is there a particular brand I should get, or can I just go to the grocery store and get Extra Virgin Olive Oil?

OMG yes I love it! I do DT's with it as well as add it to my conditioner. It leaves my hair more shiny and moisturized of course, and contrary to what I thought, my curls are more defined too. I always thought it would weigh my hair down.
Definitely give it a try!
I use the EVOO from the supermarket. Same one I cook with.

lynnieluv: when you do a cowash, how much oil do you put on? im heavy handed, but i know some people say you dont actually need to use that much. do you thouroughly soak the hair with the oil, or pour a bit in your hands and work through?
