The Word. Empty The Word.

Post by Mangos&Bananas 13th June 2010, 4:24 am

Hello Beautifuls!

Since we are all women, from different walks of life, I figure we may face and encounter some of same trial, issues, or maybe just overall experiences. I thought It would be nice if we could post some of our favorite scriptures, quotes, or even inspirational songs. You can also post the scripture that you read for the day, or just your most recent verse.Be an inspiration & get inspired!Sometime we just need to hear the word. Help our fellow curlies walk in faith & be encouraged! I'll be adding on more...but here share some of my favorites. Join me?

Scripture
Romans 12:2

"And be no longer conformed to the ways of this world. But be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind"

[as naturals we can all relate to this ^.]

Quotes
"There is nothing noble about being superior to somebody else. Real nobility lies in being superior to your former self"

Song;
More than anything; Not sure of the artist? Its a gospel song.Really beautiful, check it out if you get a chance!

This was a friend's status on FB....it really spoke to me.

"Thought for today....Anytime there is a SET
change in a STAGE PLAY, the lights are DIMMED until it's complete
darkness. Changes are made on STAGE, but the AUDIENCE can't really see
them because it's dark. Sometimes in LIFE our DAYS can seem like NIGHTS.
Our situations may be DARK, but God is making changes behind the scenes
on our behalf. When HE brings the lights back up, we can see the new
changes on our SET." ~J. Thompson

Good Morning Curlies!

A song that really speaks to my heart - Maurette Brown Clark "Sovereign God"

A Few Lyrics
There aren't even words to describe just how great You are
In all Your majesty
You continually
Provide for me
There just isn't anything that You can't do
Lord I've seen Your work before
So I'll trust you all the more
Because You are

You are the sovereign God
Bigger than all my problems
And every situation
There is nothing too hard
For the sovereign God

A wave of Your hand can command the seas to hold their peace
If you can handle the seas
Then I know that You can deal with all my needs
So I will put every situation
Into Your capable hands
I don't have to know the plan
Be You are........

Matthew 5:6
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Enjoy!

Here are mine for today:

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6

Be still and know that I am God... Psalms 46:10

These spoke to me today...perhaps someone else needs to "hear" them, too! ;-)

Shekinah Glory- Fall on me. Great song!

Luke 16:10
" He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much; and he that is unjust in that which is least is also unjust in much"

what I got out of it; To whom much is given much is required. Manage your blessings and maintain the faith. Be faithful over a little and God will bless you with much more.

-Never Underestimate Gods timing of events in your life. There are no coincidences.

Have a blessed day Ladies!

I, too, can testify! AMEN!!!

This here is one of my favorites; I keep it on my desk at work--in view at all times:

Philippians 4:11-13

(11) Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: (12) I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. (13) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I think this ties in with the scripture above...yet it speaks on the ability to be content, no matter what you have...good/bad, up/down...be content...your faith shall get you through...no matter the issue...KNOW that He is and you are blessed at all times. Easier said than done, huh? :-)

Have a wonderful weekend, y'all!

Contentment has been our topic in Bible Study the past two weeks.

When we are grateful and content (in the spiritual sense) we will be blessed with more. Worldly contentment leads to complacency and that is not ideal for growth.

OK...I had to look up complacency to get it's actual meaning (not what I thought--haha)..."Smug self-satisfaction". No, this cannot help one grow. You're "stuck" because now you feel somewhat god-like because you have all you want (worldly contentment). What can your faith or spirituality do for you when you feel you have it all? Hmmm.

Got me over here thinking! :-)

Amen sister! thats a beautiful passage, that we can all relate too. He's an ON TIME God. And with that certainty we can be encouraged and know that whenever our "storms" come, because Jesus did it, we can also speak "PEACE" unto our situations! I love it!

@ Tia and @TheRYL1 - well amen and AMEN!!!! lol.Thats a very relevant topic to be discussing. Because so often, we get so caught up in trying to be "happy" and "find ourselves" that we begin searching the world. But because we are IN the world and not OF it, our contentment can never be found externally. We must ..."Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all other things will be added unto us." [Mathew 6:33]

@TheRYL1 I love that Phillipians 4:11-13! we must both hunger and be filled at the same time. your right, easier said than done! :-)
I take "hunger" as the expectancy of reaping the seeds we sow, and "being filled" as knowing that those seeds will come in due season.how do you take it?
