Hey Neems!
Werk it in that garden girl! LoL
& Yay to finding your holy grail! That's great! I'm still on that journey myself. I think by the time I hit a year (December) that I'll have it down packed. Well hopefully anyway...
Cant wait to see your pics!

Don't it feel good to find your Holy Grail! Hope it continues to work for you! ;-)
Yes it does. I didn't think it was possible

Hey Neems! Those garden pics are great! I liked reading about your Holy Grail. Keep us posted. I love community gardens. We have a lovely one here too.
Hair Updates with Pics
The past week has been kind of crazy. There was a big event at work on Tuesday for which I wore a twist-out and it look FABULOUS, I must say. I didn't realize how much my hair has changed in the past year. It looks so different. I think I might be shedding or my hair is changing texture again. Just when I think I've figured it out...
Strangely, I think my hair color is changing. My family keeps telling me I never had black hair, but I don't remember it being this brownish-red.Has that ever happened to anyone.

Re: Neems-- I Got A Compliment, From a Guy!
thank you. Would believe all I have to use is KCKNT and some coconut oil and let it air dry and this will last a whole week. 'Less is more' really works for my hair. I'm so happy because that means less money spend on hair products.
Contemplating a press and curl
Hey Ladies,
I think I'm in a hair funk. So last week I trimmed my ends myself and did regular two strand twists. When I unraveled them they looked fine, but I'm getting bored with the same hairstyle. I don't cornrow very well so that isn't an option. I would love to try a frohawk but I can't seem to get my hair to cooperate. Maybe I should get my hair pressed over the weekend just to switch it up but I'm petrified that the heat will damage my hair. I even thought about putting in a rinse but that dried my hair out before. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate them.
Thanks,

I like your hair. to try something different how about bantu knots/knot outs or a roller seat like the one mahoghany curls did a few months ago. Instead of getting her hair pressed she did a roller set and silk wrap. I will try to search and find it off the main curlynikki page.

Thanks, I never thought of a roller set. Do I need to own a hooded dryer though?

Thanks I can't wait until this weekend to try this out. If it works out I might go to a wine festival with it.
Re: Neems-- I Got A Compliment, From a Guy!
Hi Neems, I feel you re: hair funk. I think I am going to try mini or small twists tonight. I need a change. The thing is I have been hairstyle lazy the last couple of months. I noticed my hair is acting up also. The ingredients Grace (hair's name) usually like are no longer working. C'est la vie, huh?Neems wrote:Hey Ladies,

Hope you the best on your rollerset or bantu knot out.

@ChrsLvsBks Yeah, it can be a challenge. Thanks for the encouragement.
Twisty coils
I got around to doing something new with my hair. Instead of simply twisting my hair like I usually do I set it on perm rods. So now I have these cute twisty coils all over my hair. Also now my ends are protected. I like it. What do you think. Sorry the pics aren't that great since I took them on my camera phone.
Re: Neems-- I Got A Compliment, From a Guy!
Hi Neems! I guess this is my first stop over here.
I like perm rod set, it definitely is a different style for twists. What products did you use and how long did it take?

Re: Neems-- I Got A Compliment, From a Guy!
Treece, here's what I did:
- Pre-poo with olive oil, then shampoo with Giovanni 50:50.
- I wanted to see if I could brighten up my hair so I added a Jazzing Clear Rinse. It was okay but dried out my hair, next time I'm going to use cassia and amla.
- Deep conditioned with Oilve Oil, JBCO and Olive Le Kair Hair Cholesterol (left on 30 mins) and rinsed.
- Lastly I added a quarter sized amount of Aubrey Organics White Camellia and KCKT as a leave-in. I twisted with coconut oil and whipped shea butter to seal in moisture.I only use a comb to detangle the ends and divide large sections of hair. I don't like really neat parts because my hair tends to look scalp-y if I do that.
I think it took about 3.5 hours all together with breaks in between.
Re: Neems-- I Got A Compliment, From a Guy!
Thanks Neems! Did the color brighten your hair the way you wanted though?

Re: Neems-- I Got A Compliment, From a Guy!
You're welcome. Ehh, the rinse was alright. It took away the dullness so I guess it did it's job, but I was not impressed. It made my hair feel like straw and very tangled. I highly doubt I would use that brand again.
Re: Neems-- I Got A Compliment, From a Guy!
I'm so excited. Seriously, I'm bouncing in my seat. I was out with my mom and saw an Indian grocery and of course I had to go inside. To my delight they had maka, amla and shikakai powders for sale at $1.50 a box. And for good measure I picked up a bottle of Vatika oil. Now all I need is some AO HSR and my product junkiness will be complete for the winter, I hope. Actually, I need some type of curl cream because my shea mix doesn't seem to do anything. Any suggestions for 4a/b fine, coarse and prone to dryness hair?
Anyway, I could not have been happier. Now I can't wait to wash my hair.

from what I can see they look great!!Neems wrote:I got around to doing something new with my hair. Instead of simply twisting my hair like I usually do I set it on perm rods. Amla really works!!!
Yessss!!! the amla and maka powders are working. I did a treatment today after a workout and my hair felt sooks good. Seriosuly it has weight but was fluffy and was not breaking. Even the shedding seems left. Btw, I had to buy AOHSR and it worked miracles. Clearly my hair prefers to Sally's GVP and Lustrasilk.
Re: Neems-- I Got A Compliment, From a Guy!
Hey Neems! I need to look into the benefits of maka and amla. Does it change your curls any?
Re: Neems-- I Got A Compliment, From a Guy!
Maka is king when it comes to Ayurveda. I would love to find it on the ground. I love it and brahmi.
Have you used the Vatika oil yet? How do you plan to use it?
