thats as mini as they'll get lol i dont have the patience or time to do them any smaller...maybe when my hair is longer i'll do them smaller b/c i can keep them in longer and do updos and buns and ponytails with them but not anytime soon lol

i tried the entire mixed silk line and used it all together to see how the line worked as a whole.

shampoo:
i was scared of using this because it has sulfates in it ( AMMONIUM LAURETH SULFATE, TEA-LAURYL SULFATE), but it doesnt have SLS and i read other ppl saying it was moisturizing, and it says gentle on the label lol so i gave it a shot...i prepooed and detangled beforehand on dry hair with my coconut oil detangling mix (coco oil/castor/olive/jojoba/grapeseed/ayurvedic oils) & then washed 2 times...it lathered ok, and my hair felt clean, soft, moisturized and not stripped...it felt better and looked curlier after washing than it is with giovanni 50:50...i like it, and would probably repurchase.

after shampoo:


then i DC'd with their DC and olive oil...i've used this before and i really like it...thick, creamy, good slip...

after rinsing out DC and drying in a turbie twist for like 20 minutes:


then i just raked in the mixed silk leave-in with my fingers and sealed with a mix of proclaim argan oil and vatika oil...because i used the turbie twist b4hand it only took like 15 minutes to dry...my hair dried soft and touchable, with hold that wasnt hard/stiff/crunchy...i like it much better alone than when i mixed it with ecostyler






overall, i give the line a 3.5/5... the ingredients arent my fave (sulfates, glycerin, protein, cones, and other stuff i dont recognize), and they all have a similar smell, but the leave-in is the worst (like soap and cheap perfume)...they arent staples, but they get the job done and work nicely together.

Thanks much for the review. I was gonna purchase the whole line and review it but they only had the DC and the shampoo at my Sally's. I just got the shampoo. Seeing your review about the leave in kind of makes me not wanna try it, especially with the smell (gross)

the DC is my favorite, then the shampoo, then the leave-in....u kinda get used to the smell but its still weird lol...it doesnt linger, but you do smell it when you're pumping it out of the bottle and applying it lol...and you could probably mask it with a good smelling oil lol

i finally caught the color bug. i was so scared to color my natural hair because last time i colored my hair (i was relaxed) my hair suffered and i didnt want a setback. i only lightened the front just incase i didnt like it or just incase it falls out atleast its not all over...

for the back i used garnier herbashine in soft black...my hair was already dark but i wanted a uniform color.

for the base, i probably should've used bleach to get the color that i want, but i was scared so for the base i used clairol textures and tones in bronze. according to the color chart i should've got a blondish bronze color, but i didnt. i even left it on for double the recommended time and used heat but it didnt really help.



i went over the bronze with manic panic in vampire red...i thought it would be a brighter red, but its just a burgundyish color...

Love the color! I've been reading about the Garnier Herbashine and I heard its good and that it doesn't dry your hair up.

yeah i know! if nothing crazy happens in the upcoming months i might keep it colored for a while and lighten up my whole head

thanks! yeah its really gentle...the instructions said leave it on for 10-15 minutes but i left it on for an hr

You'll be fine. Just keep it moisturized and deep treated and it'll be happy!
