Do we take our Americanism for granted?

Hello Ladies,

I attended a business conference in Miami this weekend. It was very inspiring and motivating.
The moment that struck a chord in me was this speech made by the recipient of an achievement award. She spoke about being a first generation immigrant who came to this country for a better life. She also spoke about helping her fellow immigrants do the same. It got me thinking, "Do we as 'Natural Born Americans' take the opportunties afforded to us for granted". "Do we try our best to help our friends and families be successful or do we only worry about ourselves?" "What lessons can be learned from immigrants and their work ethic and sense of community?"
