I have been really sick the past 3 days so I have done absolutely nothing to my hair except tie a silk scarf around it. I'm finally making an attempt to go to work today, its a little rainy so I just plan on wearing a fro. I hope I have enough energy tomorrow to do my protective style as scheduled, I just want to get it out of the way.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

So...
Last night I didn't post! I was so busy doing my hair I just couldn't.
I decided a few weeks ago that I would do yarn braids. I had been encouraged after watching BlackOnyx77 on youtube do a video tutorial on it. During my transition I had done yarn twists and I absolutely loved them. I kept them in for a hot minute.
This is what my yarn twists were like
And here's the yarn braids!
I put a few rows of brown in the back....for unknown reasons lol! I just wanted to try it out I guess.
This took like all day. My first time doing my whole head, it's clearly huge, lol.

You know I thought my arms would get tired but they didn't! I also don't have anything near toned arms haha. Thank you =]
Thank ya! Yeah you should. It will save you some $$ too.CocaColaCutie wrote:Looks good girl! Maybe one day I'll actually do those kinky twists I keep thinking about.
I remember when I said that same thing. I would have never imagined doing this. But I guess anything is possible (corny to say lol!). Thank you very much though =]A85 wrote:Wow ur hair looks great I wish I had the patience!!
Re: CoarseDame
So today's hair involved the yarn braids in a pony tail with a hump in the front. My biggest challenge is to find styles that I can do with these braids so they don't look ordinary.
I would have posted photos, but my camera on my phone is being really simple at the moment. I hope I can post something tomorrow.

Hello! I haven't been here in a very long time. I'm going to try my best to keep up with the challenge. I have been extremely busy, with my two jobs and the meet up group (for nappturals). My only day off is Sunday.
Last Sunday we had a meet up, brunch with a live reggae band. I had a great time meeting new girls from the group.
Me & my friend Kim
Beautiful women!

Super Cute! And what a great protective style and seems pretty easy to do! How long did it take you to complete?

Thank you! Yes it was easy to do the actual braids but it took ALL day for me to complete. It was the first time I did my whole head. I would definitely do this again, it saved me a lot of money!

Today I met up with two amazing natural hair women who will be hosting for the next Boston Natural Hair Meet Up:
Redgine, is a scientist & bio engineer who makes her own hair care line, Botanical Spirits (http://botanicalspirits.com. She sent me home with an extremely generous portion of samples. One of each product that is being sold on her website. I cannot wait to try them.
Erinn, owner of Simply Erinn's (http://www.simplyerinns.com/), a Unisex Hair Salon in Cambridge, MA, is very familiar with natural hair and also relaxed hair. She is by far one of the nicest people I have ever met!
We had a great conversation over tea and I'm too excited to announce this meet up "Hairology 101" to my meet up group!
