so i mentioned in another thread that i'm afraid to BC cuz my man may not like it right? i hadn't even told him yet that i started a transition back to natural hair. i asked him today what he thinks i would look like with short hair... he said, "Frikkin gorgeous"... that right there freed my mind to further consider the BC. i saw on another forum, a challenge to grow as much hair as possible 'til October... and i decided to join :-) October will make me 6 months post relaxer so I should have at least 3? inches of NG by then. I plan to take my box braids out in early August. i will continue to use JBCO on my scalp every other day for maximum growth. i will also start taking Hair Skin & Nails vitamins and generally care for my hair as gently and strictly as possible, and NO HEAT!!

welcome to the block. how long are you going to transition? will you be a long transitioner or a short? Make sure that you are going natural for you and no one else. No matter who likes your hair you are the one that has to care for it and love it for yourself. Enjoy your journey

Cool on the transition, I wish I could do the transition in a short amount of time i was so scared. I transition for a year thought I needed more hair to work with. I wish i can go back to box braids also. That was the 1st culpit of leaving my hair with no edges. I had someone do my baids tooo tight and my edges where gone. I was great styling them while i had them. Sounds like you have a plan.

... so i'm getting really sick of these braids!! i don't want to take them out cuz i feel like it would be a waste but they won't stop itching no matter what i do! i did several back to back ACV rinses and the itch is better but still there. i think i'm going to wait another week and get them out. i also want to see my hair again and get ready for the BC i have planned in October. YAY!! can't wait :-)

OK, so i'm having this huuuuge! urge to cut all of my relaxed ends off and i'm giving myself one week from Saturday to decide if i actually BC... i'm not waiting 'til October anymore! i know i want to do it so one week to ge tused to the idea isn't bad. i'm taking my braids out at the end of next week cuz i can't stand them anymore LOL and i will be more than 3 months post. wish me luck ladies! i'm practically jumping out of my skin with excitement

Hello Amy and welcome. It's great that your BF is supportive. Bc'ing is huge step and I don't think I would have been able to do it w/o my hubby's support. I was 3 months post when I BC'd too. Good luck with your transition plans!

Welcome to Curl Street. And welcome to your natural hair care journey ( I say that like I've been doing this for years and I've only been bnatural for a few months!! lol). Don't forget to post pics of your BC!!
