So spill the beans:
WHAT IS YOUR REGIMEN? WHAT PRODUCTS AND TECHNIQUES ARE YOU USING?
LOL, Wow IntelligentBeauty way to make me think. Here's a rough draft of my regimen:
My hair day is normally Friday:
I begin with a hot oil treatment. I use coconut oil most of the time, but there are times when I use Ojon Restorative Treatment (this is on dry hair of course). I make sure my hair is thoroughly saturated from root to end. Then I sit under the steamer for 20 minutes. After hair has cooled a bit I head to the shower to co-wash
Co-wash Product: Suave Shea and Almond Conditioner. At this time I’m making sure my hair is detangled as well (Ouidad double detangler).
I deep condition after EVERY wash/co-wash. I use Mizani Silk Cream Conditioner mixed with Mizani Moisturfuse moisturizing conditioner. I part my hair into four sections and apply conditioner section by section working the product through my hair again from root to ends with my fingers (not much detangling needed here because I did that in the shower). I don’t skimp on the conditioner at all. After I have applied conditioner, I steam my hair for 45 minutes. I then put plastic caps on my hair, put on my turban and go to bed with the conditioner on my hair
The next morning I rinse my hair.
I apply KeraCare Natural Textures leave-in conditioner all over my hair, section hair off and begin my roller setting
I either use the perm rods or strawllers to set my hair; I also apply KeraCare Natural Textures Curl & Coil custard for hold.
I sit under the dryer for 1 hour and remove rollers. When separating my curls I have Mizani Supreme Oil on my hands and I separate each curl into about 5 curls. Make sure you twirl each curl so that it keeps its form. I reapply oil to my hands as needed. When complete you have an entire head of bouncy spirals.
At night I just put on a bonnet
mornings I fluff hair and separate curls if needed.

So based on this you REALLY like the Mizani line huh? Where do you purchase it from as I haven't seen it in the stores.
Re: nmoultry hair journey
@Sweetdrk1: I love their Moisturfusion line. I normally order it from Paynesbeautysupply. I sometimes use the entire line which makes my process seem very long. They even have a cleansing oil

Re: nmoultry hair journey
Hi there! I don't think I've ever visited your thread! I LOVE your hair! I too am using the KeraCare naturals line lately. I don't have the leave-in but I do use the twist cream. I love it and looks like your hair loves it too! So, you only do rod sets?
Re: nmoultry hair journey
Great. Thanks
I love your regimen. You give your hair lots of TLC. So how long have you been steaming? What brand do you have? Did you notice a difference from what you use to do immediately upon using it?
(I am considering getting one)

Your hair is flourishing! I see you are still rodding, and I see why. It looks great!
Re: nmoultry hair journey
@poeticlyspkng: Hi! LOL, I was gone for probably almost a year and just posted an update the other day. Yes I only style in some sort of rollerset. It's easier for me. You should get the KeraCare leave-in as well it's awesome.
@Intelligentbeauty: you're welcome! I've been steaming from day one of my journey. I just love how my hair feels after the process. I purchased my steamer from buyritebeauty.com. I don't think it has a name. You will love it if you purchase TRUST ME
@ChrsLvsBks: Thanks girlie! Your hair looks great too

Happy Friday Ladies!
Just stopping in to say hello and post pics of today's hair. This is 6th day hair. I rodded my hair on Sunday and still have a ton of curls today and this is after working out for 3 days this week: Strength training, cycling and Zumba. Tonight is definitely wash night!!! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend

Thanks Lynnie! I need to correct myself. I used strawllers for that style BUT the equivalent rod size is the little gray ones. The only difference is the strawllers are longer that the rods so the hair is stretched a little bit more

Re: nmoultry hair journey
Which ones do find to be easiest to put in, the rods or the strawllers? I'm pretty sure you are good at using both since this is your signature style.

Lynnie,
Hmmm I would have to say the strawllers are easier to use. You don't have to worry about elastic popping all over the place. If you try them, just be sure you go to Sallys and purchase the long heavy duty bobby pins to secure the strawllers.

Those spirals are to die for! I could never do them myself! I always paid for them!
Re: nmoultry hair journey
Thanks sweet! Oh I'm sure you could've done with yourself instead of paying for them. One of my friends told me that salons charge $65 for rod sets. I about hit the floor

Yes, I wondered the same. Also do u dry overnight or just use heat?
I am loving this and I know my hair would stay for weeks in that.
Also how often do u moisturize, how and with what?
Sally's will sell those strawller?

Re: nmoultry hair journey
Lynnie & Intelligentbeauty: It takes me 2 hours to put the strawllers in my hair
Intelligentbeauty: I sit under a hair dryer since it's not direct heat. It would be close to impossible to sleep in those strawllers. I order the rollers from strawllers.com. I moisturize my hair throughout my entire wash/styling process so I don't have to do too much more to it during the week. I just sleep in a bonnet at night

Thank you! You should try them, I'm all about low maintenance. The style could easily last 2-3 weeks but I have to redo mine weekly because I work out and the only place I seem to sweat is in my darn head lol.
I think the strawllers are a great investment (I have 3 different sizes) . I did a twist out a few weeks back, worked out and let me tell you the next day my hair looked a hot mess considering I'm not the one for retwisting at night. I'm so used to just wearing a bonnet. Let me know if you try them
