im on day 4 of my WnG! i dont think i ever went this long...i could probably make it last a whole week but while my hair doesnt have any build-up or look/feel dirty, yall know how it is when you just feel like its time to wash...and i have 2 tests next week which i will be studying for so i doubt i'll have time to wash next week so i'm gonna do it this weekend. i like to pre-poo b4 i wash and DC overnight so depending how late it is when i get back, i'll try to do a hot oil treatment or pre-poo w/ conditioner 4 atleast an hr then wash and DC for 30 mins w/ heat and then leave in condish overnight and rinse out tomorrow...

Shine shine shine on, love the look of your curly q's, beautiful!
Henna does not loosen everyone's hair. My hair is pretty loose and I never experienced any loosening until my last treatment this weekend.
I enjoyed my weekend.

wow i really havent had a relaxer in 6 months...and its been 2 months since i BCd! =]
its like 90 degrees out and i just got in from school so i'm probably gonna do a celebratory co-wash lol (besides my hair right now is lookin pretty jank)
length check (kinda):
oh& i know i said i wasnt buying anything until the end of summer, or until i run out...but i went into this grocery store to buy stamps...and they didnt have any, but u know what they did have? 40-50% off everything!!!! they're going out of business...which is good because they overpriced everything anyways lol
check out my goodies:
how much did i pay for 5 bottles of conditioner and some gel and some cotton squares AND a mountain dew? $30$?...20$?...15$? NOPE!!!
$13.19!!!!!!!!!!

Good deal! You can never have to much conditioner
Re: its iri9109's nappiversary! kendall is officially 1!
@krazy coils i know right? lol
i'm taking a break from balancing redox reactions to get my curlynikki fix lol...
in the past 24hrs i've manipulated my hair more than i usually do all week.
yesterday i was gonna co-wash but i didnt b/c of time restraints...but due to my self-diagnosed ADHD & the PJ itch i couldnt wait to try the HE TT gel that i bought yesterday...i usually like to try new products on freshly co-washed hair but i just put a little cantu shea butter leave-in in my hair and put the gel on top:
then late last night i was browsing and i saw a recipe for a moisturizer...i forgot the measurements but i remembered the ingredients and so in the middle of the night i made it out of pure boredom. the original recipe called for any conditioner, sweet almond oil, glycerin (optional), aloe vera gel, and EO of choice. its been like 90 degrees every day so my coconut oil went totally liquid on me...it looks like straight water...i like it but its not the same as being able to dig in the jar like grease lol...so i used the some of the lil bit i had left in the jar and added around 1/2-3/4 cup of suave humectant and garnier fructis sleek and shine combined, a few drops of sweet almond oil, 5-10 drops of lemon EO, and probably 1/2 cup or less of aloe vera gel, and then 2 teeny squirts of HE HH conditioner. i mixed it up really good with a plastic spoon and then put some on my hair...it had my curls POPPIN!!!!!!!!! and my hair felt soooooooo soft and moisturized . i didnt take pics tho because it was like 3AM and i was tired.
in the morning my hair was still moisturized and soft, but i knew i had no bizness using all those products and i just didnt want to get any build up so i decided to co-wash. but before i did that i picked my hair out with a wide-tooth comb and used a knee-high as a head band just to see what it would look like:
it was ok, but i still wanted to co-wash to get all that product out to start fresh to get my take on the HE TT gel. i cowashed with HE TT and left some in, then i wasnt sure how to apply it really but i kinda raked it thru like i remember CN saying she did. then i kinda pinned the sides down to make a frohawk...sorta lol:
back:
overall i like the gel. it doesnt get crunchy, but has some more hold than my Elasta QP Feels like Silk (which i still LOVE) and less hold than ecostyler. i'd buy it again, but dont really want to pay full price, so i'm probably gonna go back to that store where i got it for 1/2 off and see if they have anymore and get one more tube to save for later.
b/c i already did so much to my hair already this week, i'm going to try to leave it alone until the weekend...as i type i'm thinking of ways to put on my lab goggles without my hair getting too frizzed or messed up lol

random thought/rant:
maybe its just me, but its kinda funny that Titi & Miko Branch of Miss Jessie's market their products to alot naturals, when they're not even natural themselves ( kinda but not exactly how the majority of relaxers and products that many relaxed women use are manufactured by businesses and companies owned/operated by white/non-blacks). Titi & Miko have "silkeners" aka "texturizers" aka "relaxers left on for a shorter period of time" with the main ingredient being NaOH aka sodium hydroxide aka lye...at a concentration high enough to chemically alter curl pattern/ texture....and then all these women use MJ products trying to get their hair to look like the Branch sisters, when its a high possibility that thats not going to happen without chemicals (even though using some of the products esp w/ the 'shingling' method does seem to work for some naturals). but now i think i kinda understand why their products have so many ingredients that alot of naturals consider "bad". because what works for Titi/Miko/any texturized/relaxed women, might not have the same effect on some natural hair.
which brings me to the point of "bad ingredients".
i guess i'm modified CG because i wash with a low-poo and i sometimes use cones (water-soluble). but i tend to stray away from mineral oil and petrolatum/petroleum. alot of naturals use the Chicoro moisturize/sealing method (water based moisturizer--->oil---->creamy moisturizer). and Chicoro has some long beautiful seemingly healthy natural hair. and i was fotki stalking her yesterday and she used to slather her hair with VASELINE as a sealant. aka 100% petroleum jelly. and she claims when used on soaking wet/moisturized hair it seals in the moisture, but when used on dry hair it blocks out moisture and makes the hair dry and crunchy. i'll just take her word for it b/c i cant see myself ever putting vaseline near my head unless im basing my scalp cuz i'm finna get a relaxer...which will be NEVER. lol...
*end of rant*

Your hair is looking great! You are all kinds of cute. I'm feeling you about the Miss Jessie's products: I've only seen a handful of naturals who SWEAR by these products. I know for a fact that *I* can't use them--my hair turns into a sticky, greasy mess with that stuff, and I'm not even heavy handed with my products.
Re: its iri9109's nappiversary! kendall is officially 1!
thanks mika! i never tried miss jessies but if the ingredients didnt turn me off, the price sure did!! lol im a broke college student and i'll be darned it if i pay that kind of money for some low quality ingredients...i'd rather mix up something on my own

Hey Iri, you have a interesting view of miss j's and I agree with you. When I was transitioning I really went through their site and a chunk of their afters had the silkening treatment. I thought -isn't this the same as a kiddie perm left on for 5 minutes? I guess subconsciously, I never got past that because i have never tried their products and I have tried a lot of products!!!
Your hair is so pretty! and congrats on the shopping score!

no updates on my hair front but check out my lil sis:
she wasnt really down for the photo snapping cause lol...she kept talking and moving and acting silly while i was tryna take pics. but i came home and saw her hair all wavy and was like 'you did a braidout??????' (like she really knows what that is... lol). i told her she should go natural and she was like 'no because i like to wear my hair curly' i'm like 'IT WILL BE CURLY!!...DUH' she was like 'i mean like a rollerset' i'm like 'you can still do that' & she was like 'no you cant' & i was like 'whatever lil girl im not gonna argue with you' lol...i also think she doesnt want to go natural b/c my mom said that she had to put a relaxer in her hair in order to be able to comb it, and that her hair was 'too nappy' to go natural =/

Hey Iri! Haven't been through in awhile!. Your curls are so beautiful & you've made me realize that I haven't baggied in weeks! After I'm done typing this I'm off to baggy my hair lol so thanks for the reminder!! Your sister's hair is cute. My mom use to tell me the same thing about my hair being to thick or to nappy or to whatever so I "had" to get a perm. Smh. lol

I've tried MJ's Baby buttercream (it was a gift) and I love the results of my twist/twistouts but on day 3 or 4, my hair feel icky and sticky . I ended up giving it away.
JnB's went to a "thingy" they had in Houston and she said one (Titi or Miko...cant remember) them admitted she had heat damage and they blow dried all of the models hair. '
As for Chicoro....I love her sealing/moisturizing method but I refuse to put Vaseline in my hair. I dont want my hair that long anyway
