Christianity Practices outdated
Today in class there was a film in class that was discussing religions and how some of the Christian practices are outdated....
I personally think that if you are going to choose to follow the Word of God then follow it without altering because it was written for the past present and future in mind... im just saying but I would love to hear what you ladies believe or seem to think????

I do believe that if you are going to follow the word of God, you shouldn't alter it. But I also believe that some of the practices and traditions found in a lot of Christian churches, especially in the south are outdated and don't necessarily follow what is outlined in the Bible.

I think that the message never changes, but the methods must change with the times. You can't be as effective in ministry or in life if you are using outdated, stagnant, methods to get things done.

Yes i understand exactly what you guys are saying, but their argument was mostly on premarital sex and drinking.. some things that i just dont understand.... It is tru that Jesus came as a new covenant for some of the old testament teachings to pass

How do we know what is meant for today and what was meant for people back then? I mean for example, Paul says somewhere that women should cover their heads in church. Should modern women do the same?

Well, I am a Christian and I'm not perfect. WE ALL are Sinners. I try to live my life the best way I can without hurting others and doing what I know is right. I do pray forgiveness everyday and thank god for my blessing.

After reading the actual scripture yes it is relevant to today... Our hair is our covering... so hats and so forth is just man made but we were endowed with hair so that is what we used. And we have to remember that church back then wasnt really an actual building but gathering. Also, i think Paul was talkin about going to pray not going to church... The Bible can be so confusing at ties lol
