Bad Mascara?

Hey Ladies:

I recently purchased Maybelline Falsies Volume Express Waterproof Mascara. It works really well, but it is so difficult to get off of my lashes. I have used an oil-free eye makeup remover to get rid of it and a gentle face wash, but it seems to not want to come off. When I feel like I finally do get it off, my lashes look thinner than normal.

Has anyone else ever dealt with anything like this before?
