Natural Deep Conditioners
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I am looking to put something in my hair from my kitchen (one or two ingredients at the most) as a deep conditioner (no-protein/my hair hates protein). I know there are natural products out there, but I really just want something from my own kitchen that is very moisturizing. I hair needs loads of moisture and it is lightened to brown from dark brown/black. Thanks!

Re: Natural Deep Conditioners
I've seen Ninapruitt on Youtube use extra virgin coconut oil and then sit under the dryer for half an hour. I tried it without the dryer right after my last relaxer but I think my hair had too much product build up to see a big difference, but overall it felt really soft. I haven't done it alone again because I feel like I need an actual conditioner (to which I add honey and oils) to preserve my line of demarcation (I'm transitioning). And I've also seen RusticBeauty on Youtube use a shea butter whip, haven't tried that one yet though

You should try mixing an advocado, coconut milk, and a little honey. Advocados have a lot of protein and vitamins, coconut milk contains light amounts of protein, and honey is an excellent humectant. Mix it all in a small bowl, apply and either sit under the dryer or wear a plastic cap for an hour. HTH!

Re: Natural Deep Conditioners
Coconut oil, olive oil and honey would likely make a good DC. I am planning on DCing with it this weekend. I will let you know what I thought.
Other good ingredients may be aloe vera gel, aloe vera juice, aloe vera gelly, glycerin and coconut cream (light protein as LadyMika wrote).
Remember to experiment and record your experiences so you know what works. Of course if something affects your hair in a horrible way the first time I would not suggest you repeat the same treatment. HTH
