Raw Honey Masque
So I did my weekly Bentonite Clay Honey Masque today, and afterwards I decided I wanted to try a raw honey masque for moisture. I'd tried with pure honey before but it irritated my face, so I decided to look stuff up on google to see what I'd find.
I ended up doing a masque that was (this is approximate):
Equal Amounts of Raw Honey and Bottled Water (I think it was probably 1- 1 1/2 tablespoons) and
A little less than half of that amount Olive Oil. Mix well, it'll be pretty thin (maybe I'll try to do it thicker next time so it's not so runny, but my face wasn't dripping it kinda formed little droplets on my face)
I put a warm rag on my face to re-open the pores then I put the raw honey mixture on my face. I left it on for about 10-20 minutes (I was gonna try for 45, but I didn't want that stuff to dry on my face ~lol~). Then I wiped it off with warm water. I got ALL of it off, so my face wasn't sticky at all.
After that I put a couple of drops of Jojoba Oil
My face looks and feels awesome right now. It's so smooth, I have to remind myself not to touch it. The honey didn't irritate my face at all and I feel more moisturized than I have since Winter started. My face looks radiant right now, so I figured I had to share this with ya'll.

Re: Raw Honey Masque
Thanks for sharing. I will open my pores before doing it next time, great tip!
I do something similar thanks to IB. I mix honey and aloe vera gel (natural 100%), more aloe than honey.

Re: Raw Honey Masque
Yeah, I saw one that used Aloe Vera Gel, but I don't have any of that But I will definitely try that masque when I get some.
Re: Raw Honey Masque
what is your bentonite clay + honey mask?! I've done bentonite clay mixed w/ ACV and i've done a plain honey mask, but never thought of combining the two!!! Please share! I was going to make a bentonite mask tonight so I'd love to try your version! Thanks in advance!

Ladies, where can I purchase bentonite clay and do you find it easier to apply than cassia or henna?

I purchased my clay from a health food store. They likely have it in your local health store. I have not used it as a clarifier yet so I cannot reply to second part of question.HAMPTONSFNST wrote:Ladies, where can I purchase bentonite clay and do you find it easier to apply than cassia or henna?
Re: Raw Honey Masque
@HAMPTONSFNST...I order my bentonite clay from http://www.blackonyxworld.com/ She also has videos on Youtube and her webpage that shows you how to apply the clay as a facial cleanser and hair cleanser.
I use Henna for different reasons then the clay. The clay is just a cleanser. Henna isn't hard for me to get out because I mix it with honey and coconut milk. The clay was harder to get out because I only used water and you have to make sure to get it all out or your hair will be rough because you still have clay in it! lol But after I rinsed it out I was amazed because I can never do a wash n go because my curls are never curly without manipulation but after using the clay, my curls were alive. It really strips your hair of all your products. I'm happy with it. I've used it as a face mask before and its good.

I'm sorry, I'm just now seeing this! I actually picked this one up from BlackOnyx77, it's Bentonite Clay (I've been using 1/2 tbsp), ACV (1/2 tsp), Water (1/2 tsp of bottled water), Raw honey (I don't measure this, but if I had to take an educated guess I add between 1/4 tsp and 1/2 tsp), a drop of peppermint (make sure it's only ONE because more than that will have your eyes watering ~lol~) and two drops of Jojoba Oil. And of course stir with a plastic spoon
Also, I use the Aztec Bentonite Clay from the Health Food Supply store. I bought it in like October, and I'm nowhere near even halfway through it. LOL, it lasts for a long time.
Re: Raw Honey Masque
thanks ladies. I will definitely check out BlackOnyxx's YT channel for reference with the bentonite clay.

Muz, thanks for sharing this, girl! I've had some raw Manuka honey sitting under my sink especially for facial treatments, and didn't enjoy the feel or results of yogurt/honey masks. I'll try this raw honey/olive oil/water mix and will let you know how it goes for me.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Re: Raw Honey Masque
I just did my first raw honey and brown sugar mask (exfoliated using small circular motions for 5 minutes before letting it sit for another 10) and loved it. My skin feels soft, and refreshed without feeling greasy or dry.
I'ma keep this up for another week or two (once every 2-3 days) and see what happens.

I've been using a raw honey mask for the past week. I love it too. My skin is so soft and my acne is pretty much gone.
I will def keep this in my weekly regimen.
